Dr. Ali Kosar

Sabancı University, Turkey Plenary Speaker

Ali Koşar is a Distinguished Research Professor at Sabanci University.   He is focusing on the design and development of new generation micro heat sinks with functional surfaces and microfluidic devices including cavitation on chip devices. His research interests constitute a spectrum covering heat and fluid flow in micro/nano scale, condensation, boiling heat transfer, microfluidic systems, and cavitation and their applications. He co-authored over 200 research articles in leading journals and is also a co-inventor on more than 10 granted patents and 15 pending patent applications. He received numerous national and international awards, including the Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Engineering Science Award (2025), Nejat F. Eczacıbaşı Medicine Science Award (2025), the µFIP Prominent Researcher Award” in the 2021 micro Flow and Interfacial Phenomena (µFIP) Conference, and METU (Middle East Technical University) Prof. Mustafa N. Parlar Foundation Science Award (2021). He is a Subject Editor in the Applied Thermal Engineering, the Co-director of Center of Excellence for Functional Surfaces and Interfaces for Nano diagnostics (EFSUN),  a Distinguished Researcher of Sabanci University Nanotechnology and Application Center and a Member of Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA).

Dr. Yasser Mahmoudi Larimi

Dr. Yasser Mahmoudi Larimi is a Professor of Thermal Energy Engineering at the University of Manchester. Yasser has a strong international profile in clean and sustainable energy development through studying fundamentals and designs of low-carbon thermal and power systems. He leads a multidisciplinary research programme integrating experiments, computational fluid dynamics, and machine learning particularly physics-informed neural networks to develop cost-effective solutions for achieving net-zero energy systems. Professor Mahmoudi chairs the UK Turbulent Heat Transfer Special Interest Group within the UK Fluids Network. He serves as Associate Editor of the International Journal of Thermal Sciences and the Journal of Porous Media, and as Section Editor for Discover Fluid Mechanics (Springer Nature). He has delivered over 40 invited, keynote, and plenary lectures at major international conferences in the fields of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and clean energy systems.

Roy

Dr. Subrata Roy

University of Florida, USA
Plenary Speaker

Professor Subrata Roy studies ionized gas physics and its various applications: (1) Atmospheric plasma actuators for flow mixing, propulsion, and turbulent flow control; (2) Hypersonic flows; (3) Space propulsion; and (4) Hydrodynamic models for micro and nanofluidics by incorporating Knudsen’s theory. Prof. Roy is a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI), a Distinguished Visiting Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, a Fellow of the ASME, and an Associated Fellow of the AIAA. He serves as a member of the Editorial Board of Nature Scientific Reports and Actuators. He has over 200 publications in peer-reviewed journals and bound volumes and holds over 30 patents including one on Wingless Electromagnetic Air Vehicle. Prof. Roy is also a nation appointed member to the NATO Science and Technology Organisation working group on plasma actuator and signature technologies. He served as the Forum Technical Chair for SciTech in 2018, Technical Discipline Chair for the 2016 SciTech Plasma Dynamics & Lasers Conference. Prior to his academic career, he spent several years in industry.

Dr. Sunny R Li

The University of British Columbia, Canada
Keynote Speaker

Dr. Sunny Li is a professor of mechanical engineering at The University of British Columbia (UBC), Okanagan campus. He is the director of UBC Thermal Management and Multiphase Flows Lab, the former Chair of CSME Thermal Science and Engineering Committee, and the Canadian Delegate on The Assembly for International Heat Transfer Conferences. His research centers around the fluid dynamics of multiphase flows and heat transfer involved in high-heat-flux cooling technologies and applications, with focus on the cooling and thermal management for microelectronics and power electronics. Before joining UBC, he was a research scientist in the Electronics Cooling Lab at the Global Research Center of General Electric, Schenectady, New York. He received his MASc and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from University of Toronto in 2004 and 2008, respectively.

Dr. Chengzhen Sun

Chengzhen Sun is full professor at the State Key Lab of Multiphase flow in Power Engineering in Xi’an Jiaotong University. He received the B.Eng. degree in thermal engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi’an, China in 2008 and the Ph.D. degree in Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics from Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi’an, China in 2014. As a Ph.D student, he studied at the Department of Mechanical Engineering in MIT as a visiting student from 2012 to 2013. He started his academic career as a Lecturer at Xi’an Jiaotong University, China in 2014 and then worked as Young Talent Professor in 2021. Currently, his researches focus on mass and energy transport of nanoconfined fluids, especially on nanoscale multiphase flow and heat transfer to develop high-efficiency membrane separation and energy conversion technology. He published more than 80 peer-reviewed SCI-indexed papers in the journals of Science Advances, Physical Review Letters, ACS Nano, Science Bulletin, etc. He was invited to publish book chapter, review paper, perspective and highlight, and serve as the leading editor of several special issues. He was honored as the Excellent Young Scientists in China, WuZhonghua Yong Talent Researcher, Best Doctoral Thesis in Shaanxi Province, Annual Best Paper in Science Bulletin and others.
